paul harvey

Paul was one of the first singer songwriters I worked with where the aim was to complete a full CD. You may remember Paul from his time with Oasish, one of the first and most successful UK Oasis tribute bands. He then moved on to The Habit and then The Blades, both very hard working bands with great stage presence and not too bad at playing their instruments and putting songs together either. He is now on the solo / duet circuit with another talented artist Ross Gurney.
Paul’s first CD was mainly a compilation of songs he’d written over a number of years. He’d suggest varies styles that he’d like each song production based on and then leave it with me. I’d often do a couple arrangements, one based on what he’d asked for and others based on what I thought might work better. A good way to work and a time during which I was able to try lots of new recording techniques and software.
His second CD was predominantly new material using the same process as the first.
Paul was great fun to work with. A talented singer and song writer.
I look forward to working on Paul’s third CD which – quote ‘ needs to wait for the lighter nights’. Musicians, what a strange breed.

John And Yoko
(Before instruments, mixing and mastering)
Just to provide you with an idea of what we add at home brewed recordings.
(After we did our bits) Paul had a big say in this production. If I remember correctly Paul put the drum track down. Paul wrote this whilst travelling on the London Underground.
I also wonder what John and Yoko would make of today’s young ‘rebels’, or lack of them
